After a rather pleasant dinner in the restaurant, I decide to explore the ship. Weâve been at sea for four days now and I havenât had the proper opportunity to see what else this ship has to offer. I take the elevator to the second deck and somehow manage to find my way outside. Itâs dark, and the ocean breeze is pleasant, brushing across my face as I wander the deck. Itâs pretty quiet, and not a lot of people are about, despite the early hour, so I make my way to the outdoor bar and order a margarita. He slides a straw into the drink, and I take a sip, then grab my glass and go over to the railing. I take another sip of the liquid and as I suck, a piece of the straw breaks off. I chew on it, ready to spit it out, except I find myself biting on something soft and sweet.
âAn edible straw,â I murmur. âCanât say Iâve ever tasted anything like that before.â
With my drink in hand, I stare at the darkened water, and as I take another sip, I notice some movement out of the corner of my eye. I move away from the railing and make my way toward the back of the ship. I hear whispers from several passengers as I pass them and turn to give them a smile or raise my eyebrows in acknowledgment. When I get closer to the stern of the ship, I notice someone leaning over the railing, arms extended, almost like they're dropping something into the ocean.
âIs thatâ?â
âMr. Brady?â
A deep baritone voice has me turning to see a man dressed in a pink button-down shirt, torn white jean shorts, flip-flops, and a white wristband around his right arm. His hair is black with several blond streaks running through it, and as he moves closer, I notice his dark brown eyes and two white stud earrings in each ear.
âIt is Mr. Brady, right?â he asks again.
âYes,â I reply.
âGood evening, Mr. Brady. Iâm Calvin, your shipâs captain.â
âOh. Well, good evening,â I reply, stretching out my hand.
âI must say, itâs an honor having you on board my ship to film a high-rating television show.â
âThank you.â
Thereâs something about the way heâs looking at me that makes me wonder if heâs checking me out because he wants to fuck me or if heâs suspicious about something. Either way, he is the shipâs captain, so I guess I have to be nice and try to make a good, lasting first impression.
âHow are you enjoying the journey so far?â
He inches closer toward me as I lean against the railing.
âItâs been all work and no play up until now, so I havenât really had an opportunity to explore the ship and see what she has to offer.â
My focus goes back to whatever is happening at the front of the ship, and then the captainâs voice is right beside me.
âWell, if you donât have any plans this evening, perhaps youâd like to join me for a private captainâs dinner.
